Meet Your CoachYarixa Ferrao, Yari for short, is an award-winning personal trainer and fitness coach in South Florida. She received her nickname, Coach Yari (pronounced “Ya-di”), from 2004 Olympian, Rhadi Ferguson.

Yari believes the reason she’s become such a successful trainer is because she truly loves people. And in order to really love people, Yari believes you first have to love yourself. That’s why she takes the time to take care of herself physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Yari’s friends, students, and clients (these words are interchangeable to her) tell her that her strengths include motivation and inspiration.

Being motivated and enthusiastic comes easily to Yari because she considers it a blessing to do what she does – helping her friends achieve a happy and healthy life.

Background

Yari is a native of Puerto Rico and has spent most of her life in flavorful Miami, Florida. She was introduced to the world of training and fitness in 2001 when she competed in a South Florida figure competition which she came in 2nd place.

This had a profound impact on her life and inspired her to become a health and fitness trainer. She began teaching in a South Miami fitness studio where she did one-on-one training sessions as well as teaching hardcore boot camp classes. She later gained initial notoriety in the profession as the official fitness specialist for Univision’s morning news fitness segment, Al Amanecer, translated in English to When Awakening.

Yari continued to work for gyms in South Miami until she found a professional home at the prestigious Sports Club L.A. at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Miami. During this time she was discovered by a scout in Miami who was looking for the perfect trainer to train a royal prince in Italy for several weeks. Yari considered this experience at the young age of 23 to be one of the best experiences of her life.

Today Yari owns her own company, Coach Yari LLC, which has allowed her to successfully provide personal training, group fitness, online and corporate fitness services for the past three years.

Her most recent adventure includes becoming the 2008 Fitness Phenom Grand Prize Winner in a national contest in the U.S. and Canada. The contest officials said, “After sweating it out through two grueling rounds and after battling it out with nearly 100 other contestants, Yari’s compelling fitness routines and persuasive personality caused her to stand out from the crowd.”

Her greatest achievement has been to host one of the most result-driven group programs, Get Fit in 6 (www.getfitin6.com) in Delray Beach, Florida.

Here’s a word from Coach Yari herself:

“If you want to shed those unwanted pounds and get the body of your dreams, and you live in South Florida, come to Delray and join my friends in fun and exciting fitness adventure! And if you’re not in South Florida, you can still join the fun by taking part in the online version of “Get Fit in 6!”
